Director General of BGB next to victims of cyclone Mokha in Saint Martin

Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan distributed relief items to the affected and helpless people during his visit to Saint Martin’s Island in Cox’s Bazar Teknaf. He said that BGB Director General Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan Teknaf visited St. Martin BOP under 2nd BGB Battalion on Tuesday morning (May 16) and distributed relief items among 800 helpless people of St. Martin Island affected by the cyclone. Later BGB Director General interacted with BGB members on duty at St. Martin BOP and expressed sincere thanks to BGB members at all levels for performing their duty properly in dealing with the disaster. Senior officials of BGB Headquarters, Region Commander of Cox’s Bazar Region, Captain of Teknaf 2BGB Battalion Lt. Col. Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed and other BGB officials and media personnel were present. It should be noted that since the declaration of emergency number 10 in Cox’s Bazar district and adjacent coastal areas in response to cyclone Mokha BGB members conducted mikes in coastal areas and went door-to-door to deliver advance messages of disaster. Also, BGB has played a direct role in evacuating the people of cyclone affected areas to cyclone shelters.
