The 36th Annual General Meeting of Arvind Children’s Hospital, Dinajpur’s only recuperative children’s hospital, was held on Saturday, November 18, at the hospital’s Bimal Kumar Dev Auditorium.
General Secretary Md. Shamim Kabir gave a welcome address under the chairmanship of Abdus Samad, President of Arvind Shishu Hospital Committee. The condolence proposal was read out by Ranjit Kumar Singh, vice-president of the committee. Commemorative sub-committee convenor Rezwan Hossain Chowdhury Rana, vice-president Sunil Chakraborty, joint general secretary Jaminur Islam Jewel gave a welcome speech, committee’s joint general secretary Prem Nath Roy read the proceedings of the last 35th general meeting. The report of the annual general meeting was read by the general secretary of the committee Md. Shamim Kabir. Acting Treasurer Manowarul Haque Marshall read the income and expenditure report. Alhaj Md. Mojibur Rahman, Anwar Hossain, Shafiqul Haque Chhutu, Nasim Ali Kochi discussed freely about the two reports. The report was approved by two members present by show of hands. In the president’s speech, committee president Abdus Samad said, besides building a renovated children’s hospital, Aravind Children’s Hospital is making a substantial contribution in providing health care to mothers of children as a supplement to government health care. General Secretary Md. Shamim Kabir said in his report that Aravind Shishu Hospital has entered into 36 years. There has been considerable development in the hospital. Currently, in addition to child services, maternal (gynecological) services, dental services, modern tests and infrastructure have been developed. We have many future plans which we will be able to implement with your support. Khandkar Sanjita Zaman performed the duties of conductor.
