Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed married Speech Impaired Lovely Khatun

 Speech-impaired and parentless Lovely Khatun was rescued from Nilphamari by the police in 2010. He was sent to this safe home from Nilphamari the same year. Has been in Safehome for 13 years. Today the guardianless Lovely Khatun returned to family life. Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed, chairman of Safe Home’s management and monitoring committee, told reporters after the wedding ceremony at Baya Safe Home on Saturday (April 15) afternoon. The Deputy Commissioner also said that this is a humanitarian work. Permission to arrange marriages is granted following due legal process. They have to get bail in court to follow the legal process. Habib is bound by family ties with Lovely Khatun. They said that they are happy in marriage. Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed is also happy to marry this parentless woman. About 100 people including guests were invited to the wedding. Rajshahi Superintendent of Police (SP) ABM Masud Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Kalyan Chowdhury, Paba Upazila Executive Officer (Acting) Abhijit Sarkar and Deputy Director of Rajshahi Social Services Department Mosa came as guests in this wedding. Hasina Mumtaz, Negarat Deputy Collector (NDC), Rajshahi. Shamsul Islam, assistant director Dr. Abdullah Al Firoz, Deputy Supervisor of Sefahome Laizoo Razzaq was present. Besides, about 20 other groomsmen came from the groom’s side. Safehome is an organization of Department of Social Services. Rajshahi Safehome is located in Baya area of Nowhata Municipality of Paba Upazila. On Saturday afternoon, going to the Safehome, it was seen that Lovely Khatun’s wedding was organized in Baya Safehome of Paba Upazila with much fanfare. Lovely Khatun married Md. Barabangram Durul Mor area of the city. Habib (42). Lovely Khatun has no guardian. In Rajshahi, Lovely Khatun was a safe home for women and children under the custody of Social Services Department. It is also known that Lovely Khatun’s husband Habib is 42 years old. His house is at the junction of Bara Bangram Darul in Rajshahi Nagar. He drives an autorickshaw in Rajshahi city. His previous wife died two years ago. He has three sons who come and sit beside his father. Marriage dowry is fixed at 1 lakh taka. Groom’s son Mehdi Hasan said, father is happy to have such a good girl for his marriage. All the officers and employees of Sefahome, including the deputy supervisor Laiju Razzak, are dressed in wedding attire. Laiju Razzak said, Lovely Khatun will be happy in her own world.
