Death of Sramik League leader in Rajbari

A Sramik League leader named Abdul Aziz Mahajan (43) was hacked to death by the opponent in Baliakandi of Rajbari. This incident took place in Konagram of Narua Union of Baliakandi Upazila of the district on Sunday evening around 7 PM. The deceased Abdul Aziz Mahajan was the vice-president of the Rajbari Sramik League.

According to local sources, Aziz was returning home on the night of October 15 (Sunday). In front of the house of Tayyab Lashkar in that area, opponent Rezaul Mahajan and his men blocked his road with bamboos and cut him seriously. Later, Aziz was rescued and first taken to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital. After that he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Aziz Mahajan died there around 1 am.

According to the primary sources, Khas land is occupied on the south side of Kona village of Narua Union of Baliakandi Upazila, adjacent to Garai River, approximately 9 acres. There was a conflict between two parties in that village.

Rajbari Additional Superintendent of Police in this regard. Rezaul Karim said, ‘Aziz and Rezaul Mahajan had a dispute over land for a long time. It is believed that this murder may be due to him. In this regard, Abdur Rahman, the brother of the deceased, filed a complaint at the Baliakandi police station. The operation to arrest those involved is continuing. ‘
