Jhalakathi District Detective Branch (DB) conducted a raid and arrested a youth with 10 pieces of narcotics, yaba tablets. He was arrested from the paved road in front of the main gate of BSCIC Industrial City, Ward No. 1, Dhapar under Nalchiti Police Station at 2:30 pm on Monday, January 19.
The name of the arrested youth is Mohammad Nasir Hawlader (27). He is a resident of Poddar Hawla area of ​​Ward No. 3, Rajapur Sadar Union, Rajapur Upazila.
DB sources said that a team of DB Jhalakathi led by SI Md. Tariful Islam conducted the raid based on secret information. During the operation, the body of detained Nasir Howlader was searched in front of the witnesses present and 10 pieces of light pink Yaba tablets wrapped in white polythene were recovered from the right pocket of his jeans.
OC Touhid, in-charge of the district detective branch, said that legal action is under process in this incident, he added, adding that the ongoing anti-drug operation will continue under the orders of the district police superintendent Md. Mizanur Rahman.
