Concerned about the security of the buyers and sellers in the market and the general public, this time also the concerned police administration has taken 3 levels of security measures. Apart from this, various programs have been taken. The program includes animal test medical teams from the Department of Animal Resources for the examination of sacrificial animals in the market. There are special counterfeit note detection machines in the market to detect fake notes. A special team of police will be engaged in stopping robbers and overall security of buyers and sellers. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Cox’s Bazar Vibhishan Kanti Das said that various issues were discussed in the preparation meeting at Qorbani animal market. Security measures have been taken in every market for undisturbed trading of buyers and sellers. Necessary instructions have been given to the police so that the public can shop and trade smoothly. Police mobile teams will work in each market. Besides, special policemen in plain clothes will be on regular patrol separately. The district animal resource officer has been directed to check the animal health and correctness. This year, 90 animal markets are being held in the district. Out of which there are 17 animal markets in Sadar, 15 in Ramu, 20 in Chakaria, 8 in Pekua, 8 in Ukhia, 13 in Teknaf, 9 in Maheshkhali, and 6 in Qutubdia. However, the number of private markets may exceed hundreds. Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila Residential Officer Mohammad Zakaria said that there are 17 sacrificial animal markets in Sadar. Among them there are 5 permanent markets. 1 is newly permitted in the municipality. The largest market in the district is Kharulia market. Last year in Khas collection but this year the market has been leased. The government has collected expected revenue from Sadar market. There will be strong police cordon for order, security, overall security for buyers and sellers in all markets of Sadar. Sonali Bank will have a separate team to detect fake notes. Sadar’s traditional large animal market, Kharulia Bazar, has been leased for Tk 2 crore 67 lakh this year. Besides, the Eidgah market is sitting in the headquarters. Called for 2 crore 17 lakh taka. Other markets are Kalirchhara Bazar, Pokkhali Muslim Bazar, PMkhali Jumchari Bazar. Meanwhile, at the beginning of the Eid market, more than five hundred cows have been sold in Kharulia Bazar in the last few days. Today on Wednesday, besides the regular market, there will be a market for sacrificial animals.

Already thousands of cows have been stocked in Kharulia Bazar to be taken to the buffalo market. Besides, the traders have stocked cows in almost all the markets including Sadar’s Eidgaon Bazar, PMkhali’s Jumchari Bazar, Ramur’s Kalghar Bazar, Mithachari’s Katir Matha Bazar, Ukhiya’s Rumkhan Bazar. In addition to strengthening the police patrol, Hatsmuh has been redesigned. The lessees of some markets said that arrangements have been made for uninterrupted power supply from morning till night. Meanwhile, the biggest livestock market of Sadar Upazila and Kharulia market, as all 4 markets are on the road, it is said that additional security measures have been strengthened to avoid accidents. Md. Sarwar, the lessee of the largest Qurbani Hat Kharulia market, said, “We have leased the market for Tk 2 crore 67 lakh 70 thousand. But on the way to Cox’s Bazar with cows from Chakaria, an extortionist syndicate stopped the cattle cart before Chakaria Bridge and collected extortion. He complained that the car was impounded if the money was not paid. Meanwhile, the lease takers were disappointed because the government had earned billions of rupees through the lease of the slaughterhouses and did not take any steps for the development of the markets. The lessees and local traders complained that Kharulia Bazaar, the largest sacrificial animal market in the district, is leased at the highest rate every year, but the concerned administration has not taken any steps to develop the market. A market is held every year on the highway. As a result, many people who came to buy cows during Eid-ul-Azha met with road accidents. He said that due to lack of enough space to sit the market, the lessees were forced to set up animal stalls on the road. Different shades not constructed. Every Sunday and Wednesday, 2 days a week regular animal markets are held, but the buyers and sellers are trading on the road with extreme risk. Due to the market sitting on the road, the soil is moving on both sides of the road, causing fatal damage to the highway. On the other hand, Sadar’s other large sacrificial animal market, Eidgaon Bazar, and this year’s Eid-ul-Azha, have been leased for more than 2 crore rupees. Due to the fact that this market is located on the highway, there are severe traffic jams along with road accidents. The lessees of Kharulia and Eidgaon markets have requested the concerned administration to shift the stalls of sacrificial animals from the highway to a convenient place for the convenience of buyers, sellers and common passers-by due to road accidents.
