Muradia UP Chairman Md. Mizanur Rahman Sikder strongly condemned and protested the published news about irregularities in the distribution of rice by VGD in Dumki of Patuakhali. In a crowded press conference organized in front of the Muradia Union Parishad office of the upazila on Tuesday morning (June 20), several newspapers and local newspapers strongly condemned and protested the false news. Union Parishad members, UP Secretary, entrepreneurs of Union Information Service Center and hundreds of beneficiary families including local dignitaries were present. In a written statement, the UP chairman said, taking the oath as the elected chairman for the second time, he is carrying out his duties with utmost honesty for the welfare of the union people. He is making relentless efforts to form a union free of bribery, corruption and drugs. He is trying his best to protect the social order and ensure the peaceful coexistence of all the citizens by settling the area conflicts, land disputes, violence, riots, social injustice and inconsistency through the family court and local arbitration system. But on June 18, the VGD, after hearing that there was some problem in rice distribution, immediately stopped the supply of rice and withdrew the UP member and coildar in charge. He also ordered to stop taking money. This news was exaggerated by his election opponents and tried to tarnish his reputation and image by publishing flashy false news in various newspapers. He strongly condemned and protested the fake news of those fabricated and false information and requested the people not to be misled. At the same time, he reprimanded the media workers who spread false news with false and fragmented information and called for objective news in the future. Otherwise, the council will be forced to take legal action against those spreading fake and fabricated false and defamatory purposeful false news.
