Community Policing Day was celebrated in Tangail through various programs under the slogan ‘Police-Janta Oikya Kari, Build Smart Bangladesh’.
On this occasion, a procession was taken out from the community policing office premises of the city on the morning of November 4, on the joint initiative of the district police and the district community policing committee. The procession circumambulates the main streets of the city and meets at the multipurpose shed of Police Lines for discussion.
District Awami League President and Zilla Parishad Administrator Bir Muktijoddha Fazlur Rahman Khan Farooq was the chief guest in the discussion meeting.
Tangail Superintendent of Police Sarkar Mohammad Qaiser spoke at the meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Md. Kaycharul Islam, District Community Policing Committee President Anisur Rahman Dadu Bhai, Press Club President Advocate Zafar Ahmed and others. The meeting was moderated by Professor Milan Mahmud, a member of the District Community Policing Committee.
Senior police officers and students of various schools were present at this time.
At the end, Sub-Inspector (SI) working at Sakhipur Police Station for making a special contribution to community policing activities. Two people including Moniruzzaman Monir were given crests and certificates.
