Community Policing Day was celebrated in Rajbari with the theme ‘Police Janata Oikya Kari, Build Smart Bangladesh’. On this occasion, Rajbari Deputy Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan, Superintendent of Police GM Abul Kalam Azad, Veer Muktijoddha and community police members inaugurated the program by flying balloons and pigeons in front of Rajbari Police Superintendent’s office on Saturday (November 4) morning. Later, a colorful rally from in front of the office of the Superintendent of Police circled the main road and returned to the previous place.
After that Rajbari Deputy Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan spoke as the chief guest in the discussion meeting under the chairmanship of Superintendent of Police GM Abul Kalam Azad at Rajbari Police Lines Drill Shed. Additional Superintendent of Police Mukit Sarkar delivered the welcome speech by the president of Rajbari Community Policing, freedom fighter SM Nawab Ali. Wartime Commander Mohsin Uddin Batu, Community Policing Convenor Abul Hossain, Community Policing General Secretary Ah Rahim Mollah, Rajbari Municipal Mayor Alamgir Sheikh Titu, Goaland Police Station Officer-in-Charge Swapan Kumar Majumdar and others spoke at this time.
The speakers discussed the history of community policing and the importance of community policing in Bangladesh. Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Rezaul Karim, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Iftekharuzzaman (Sadar Circle) DIO One Biplab Kumar Biswas along with members of community policing of the district were present at the time.
