Ahead of the upcoming 12th National Assembly Elections, an election council and exchange meeting was held at a Chinese restaurant in Laxam on the occasion of the selection of the Zaker Party (Rose symbol) party candidate for the Comilla-9 (Laksam-Manoharganj) parliamentary seat.
Under the chairmanship of Zaker Party Laksam Upazila President Muhammad Nur Alam Manik, Zaker Party National Standing Committee Member and Party Secretary General Murad Hossain Jamal, National Standing Committee Member Shamim Haider, Mahabubur Rahman Haider, Abdul Latif Khan Yuvraj, Sheikh Nazrul Islam Liton, Alhaj Mufti Shariful were present. Islam Saifi, Mufti Maulana Masum Billah, Rabiul Islam Rabi, Zaker Party Youth Volunteer Front Central General Secretary Morshed Hasan Jamal, Fisheries Front Central General Secretary Md Delwar Hossain, Youth and Hindu Front Central General Secretary Biplab Vanik, Labor Front Central Secretary Sheikh Md Nazrul. Islam, Central General Secretary of Bastuhara Front Abdur Rashid Howladar, Central General Secretary of Krishak Md Mohiuddin Fakir, Central General Secretary of Talaba Front Mufti Maulana Kawsar Ahmed Chandpuri, Standing Committee Member of Zaker Party (Comilla and B-Baria) Organizing District Md Salim Kabir , Standing Committee Member Abdul Halim Advocate, Comilla South District Zaker Party President Advocate Abul Hossain, Comilla North and South Organizational District Leaders etc.
In the second phase of the program, Laksam Upazila Zaker Party President Md. Nur Alam Manik was elected as the candidate of Zaker Party symbol (golf flower) in Comilla-9 (Laksam-Manoharganj) constituency after receiving the maximum 144 votes directly from the councilors in the 11th National Parliament election.
3 candidates took part in the election of Utsav Mukher Bibhila candidate, they are Liton Chandra Bhowmik who got 49 votes, Abdullah Al-Amin got 7 votes.
Laksam Upazila General Secretary of Zaker Party told journalist Salim Chowdhury Hira Pratibed that Zaker Party will be a milestone in democratic politics. He said, “We are hopeful that the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections will be fair, participatory and acceptable.”
