1st Baishakh Bangla New Year 1430 was celebrated in Rajbari. On this occasion, organized by the Rajbari District Commissioner, a colorful procession from the District Commissioner’s Amrakanan Chattar circled the main road of the city on Friday morning. A large number of children, young and old enlivened the procession by wearing traditional Bengali costumes.
Rajbari-1 Constituency MP Alhaj Kazi Keramat Ali, Rajbari District Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan, Superintendent of Police MM Shakiluzzaman along with officials from various departments of district administration and government, and various cultural organizations participated in the parade. Later the Shobha Yatra returned to the previous place.
After that, everyone present at Amrakanan Chattar of the Deputy Commissioner’s office started the cultural program together by singing the national anthem. The guests enjoyed music, poetry, dance and drama by Rajbari District Art Academy and various cultural organizations.
Later quiz competitions and prizes were distributed in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. All the sorrows of the old year are erased and everyone hopes for good luck in the new year.
