Brickyard robbery in Muradnagar: Two arrested

Locals arrested two dacoits while escaping from a brick kiln in Muradnagar upazila of Comilla and handed them over to the police after beating them. Ali Mia, a bricklayer worker of Majlishpur village of Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila filed a case at Muradnagar Police Station as the plaintiff. On Sunday afternoon, the arrested couriers were sent to jail through the Comilla District Court. Earlier, this incident took place at RRK Bixfield in Nabipur area of the upazila at 11 pm on Saturday. The arrested are Helal Sarkar (28) son of deceased Malek Sarkar of Rahimpur village of the upazila and Sukkur Sarkar (27) son of Mofiz Sarkar of the same village. According to the local and case details sources, a group of 7/8 robbers led by Deen Islam Chappal of Rahimpur village attacked the brickworks and started beating the workers at 11 pm on Saturday at RRK brickworks in Nabipur of the upazila when the workers were distributing the salary money received from the owner. 22 thousand 4 hundred taka in cash, 3 mobile sets and goods were taken away from them. After the robbery, the locals arrested two members of the bandits while fleeing. Ali Mia, a bricklayer, filed a case in Muradnagar police station, making 3 persons named as defendants and 4/5 as unknown defendants. In this regard, Muradnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamruzzaman Talukdar said that a case has been filed in the police station based on the complaint of the plaintiff. The two arrested accused have been sent to the Comilla District Magistrate through the learned court on Sunday morning. Police operations are continuing to arrest the absconding accused.
