Md. Moniruzzaman :

Krishak Dal leader Ashikur Rahman Milon has been accused of land grabbing in violation of court order in Parail village of Ghagra union in Sadar upazila of Mymensingh.

On Monday (April 20), a human chain program was organized by the victim’s family and local residents in Parail village at noon to protest this incident and demand justice, in which more than a hundred people participated. The victim’s family members said that they have been occupying this land for a long time through ancestral sources. Despite the ongoing case in the court regarding this land, the land was forcibly occupied under the leadership of Krishak Dal leader Milon, showing a thumbs up to the court’s verdict and instructions. It is alleged that the encroachers vandalized the shops there, looted goods and attacked women. They even vandalized the grave site of the family graveyard. The victims said that they are in extreme fear at the local level and are receiving threats in various ways. The speakers in the human chain expressed their anger and said that due to the silent role of the administration, various questions have arisen in the area and the accused are getting the courage to commit such injustice with the support of influential circles. They demanded immediate administrative intervention and strict legal action against the accused.

Although the accused Krishak Dal leader Milon was called several times, he did not receive the call.

In this regard, Mymensingh District Police Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md. Abdullah Al Mamun said that he has been informed about the incident and the matter will be investigated and necessary legal action will be taken.
