Md. Zillur Rahman Jewel: BNP-backed candidate and People’s Rights Council President Nurul Haque Nur’s press conference. He claimed and complained about fear and insecurity during the election campaign. BNP-backed candidate and People’s Rights Council President Nurul Haque Nur (VP Nur) from Patuakhali 3 constituency (Golachipa-Dashmina) said that a big evil force, both domestic and foreign, is working to sabotage the election environment and has killed candidates and their supporters in different areas of the country including Dhaka and Chittagong. In this situation, we are also in a state of fear and insecurity. Still, we are in the election field at great risk to make this election festive in the interest of the country. Because this election is related to the existence of Bangladesh. If this election is not properly conducted, there will be a major disaster in Bangladesh. He said this at a press conference held at the Galachipa Upazila BNP office on Tuesday (January 27) at 11 am.

VP Nur also said at the press conference, ‘We are acting from our responsible place and we also call on others to behave tolerantly. But we are noticing that independent candidate Hasan Mamun is purposefully engaging in various types of indecent and aggressive behavior and is threatening our leaders and activists by going door to door.

Among others present at the time were former vice-president of the central parliament of Chhatra Dal Ikhtiar Rahman Kabir, president of the private university branch of Chhatra Dal Abu Humayara, former president of Galachipa Upazila BNP Alhaj Golam Mostafa, member secretary of the district public rights council Md. Shah Alam Sardar,

convener of Galachipa Upazila public rights council Md. Hafizur Rahman, former organizing secretary of the upazila BNP Moniruzzaman Nesar. Leaders and activists from different levels of BNP and public rights council were present at the time.
