He claimed and complained about fear and insecurity during the election campaign. BNP-backed candidate and People’s Rights Council President Nurul Haque Nur (VP Nur) from Patuakhali 3 constituency (Golachipa-Dashmina) said that a big evil force, both domestic and foreign, is working to sabotage the election environment and has killed candidates and their supporters in different areas of the country including Dhaka and Chittagong. In this situation, we are also in a state of fear and insecurity. Still, we are in the election field at great risk to make this election festive in the interest of the country. Because this election is related to the existence of Bangladesh. If this election is not properly conducted, there will be a major disaster in Bangladesh. He said this at a press conference held at the Galachipa Upazila BNP office on Tuesday (January 27) at 11 am.
VP Nur also said at the press conference, ‘We are acting from our responsible place and we also call on others to behave tolerantly. But we are noticing that independent candidate Hasan Mamun is purposefully engaging in various types of indecent and aggressive behavior and is threatening our leaders and activists by going door to door.
