With the change of government, now they are campaigning strongly as BNP people. Humayun Kabir, another corrupt official who has become his right-hand man, is being used in this. It is known that this BNP official Humayun Kabir was earlier accused of irregularities while he was in Kashimpur, Gazipur as Deputy Director (Alubeez).
Later, while working as Deputy Director (Export) in Vegetable and Fish Cold Storage, Airport, he was accused of various irregularities and corruption in an operation led by renowned Magistrate Saroar Alam, which was later cleared due to the ‘close attention’ of the then BADC authorities. In exchange of money, this corrupt official got the post of director of a project in an office order last August 8 by colluding with the member director (Seed) with the support of the despotic government.
MD (Seed) Md. Mostafizur Rahman built a corrupt and dictatorial syndicate with Awami-style officials during the previous government. In addition to promotion, recruitment business, use of party of one’s choice to import seeds, irregularities in seed buying and selling, getting work in exchange for commission, taking financial benefits by blackmailing junior officials in various ways, using threats, intimidation, etc. He has become the terror of the BADC seed wing.
Many officials have faced departmental investigations multiple times and taken financial advantage and even resorted to bribery. It is alleged that he is involved in bribery, transfer etc. when he visits various offices at the field level, if he does not give illegal financial benefits, he puts the official in the trap of various rules. the
Although his corruption was reported many times in various newspapers, no action was taken against him as he was supported by the previous dictatorial government. In terms of promotions and appointments, dishonest officers are appointed to good positions in exchange of money.
Officials were forced to go to various political activities, otherwise harassed. By blocking the promotion of his direct subordinates and making himself the sole claimant of the post of MD, he secured a contractual appointment for 1 year after the end of the job in exchange for various lobbying and money.
Bangladesh is now free from dictatorship due to popular uprising of ordinary students. General students demand that BADC should be freed from corruption by taking strict action against the corrupt Member Director (Seeds and Horticulture) Md. Mostafizur Rahman supported by Hasina government to free BADC from dictatorship.
