Chapainawabganj in drugs worth Tk 58 crore were destroyed by the BGB. The estimated value of these drugs is 58 crore 10 lakh 70 thousand taka.
Thursday (16 March 2023) at 10.00 am Under the overall management of Chapainawabganj Battalion (53 BGB), these narcotics were officially destroyed at Chapainawabganj headquarters training ground.
According to the BGB office in a press note, Chapainawabganj Battalion (53) BGB from November 01, 2019 to December 31, 2022.
Rajshahi Battalion (1) BGB from January 01, 2020 to December 31, 2021 and Rahanpur Battalion (59) BGB from November 01, 2019 to 31, 2023.
The amount of drugs recovered from the three battalions mentioned above from different border areas is 1 lakh 21 thousand 5 hundred 95 bottles of phensidyl, 2 thousand 2 hundred 21 bottles of foreign liquor, 1 thousand 7 hundred 45 liters of domestic liquor, 4 hundred 07 kg of ganja, 152 kg of heroin, 6 lakh 43 thousand pieces of yaba, 2 lakh 8  Thousands of bidi leaves, 905 kg bidi leaf powder, 783 kg bidi masala, 1,300 kg bidi leaves, 550 bottles of narcotic syrup, 8,634 narcotic injections, 221 kg tobacco leaves were destroyed.
The Narcotics Destruction Program was attended by Brig Gen Benazir Ahmed, Region Commander, Rangpur HQ, Col. Anwar Lafit Khan, Sector Commander, Rajshahi HQ, CPC-1 RAB-5 was present as the special guest. Company Captain Lt. Commander Ruh-fi-Tahmin Taukir, Chapainawabganj District Administration Assistant Commissioner Zubair Jahangir, Additional District Superintendent of Police Abul Kalam Sahid, Deputy Director of District Narcotics Control Directorate Anichur Rahman. Welcome speech was given by Chapainawabganj Battalion (53) BGB captain Lt. Colonel Nahid Hossain.  Among others, students from various schools and colleges were present.
