 Bangladesh Forest Department is implementing the sustainable forest and livelihood project in 28 districts with the financial support of World Bank . There are 5 forest areas under Sufal project . 600 villages of 165 upazilas of 28 districts of eight divisions are involved in it . The Sufal project was launched in July 2018 with the aim of improving the management of government forest resources and increasing local people’s participation in forest conservation and restoration . The project also aims to reduce dependence on forests , prevent depletion of forest resources and provide alternative livelihoods to forest-dependent communities . Sufal project to protect afforestation in the south, the country’s Sagar river canal, Bill Kheto region, Patuakhali and Barguna of Barisal division , two districts are basically coastal areas , Sufal project is doing the work of protecting this region through afforestation , to protect the forests and the small and big chars that wake up in the river or the sea . . Forestry and habitats for wild animals including various types of birds are growing in all the coastal plains . Above, Ghota is protecting Bangladesh including southern region from oxygen vacuum . Within Patuakhali and Barguna districts , there are more than half a hundred chars and dub chars of different names in Galachipa , Rangabali , Kalapara upazilas of Patuakhali .​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Sufal project is constantly trying to protect the grasses by planting different types of trees from the destruction of the grasses and divers .
Although the monitoring facility has been opened , it is not working due to lack of skilled manpower at the field level . Some of the pastures of Galachipa can be seen under Sufal project, the forest department planted different species of trees so that the foundation of the silt soil of the pasture can be strengthened as well as to create a safe environment for biodiversity, but cattle roam freely in the forest or pastures. Forest Department benefit project is not seeing the light of day. On the other hand, there is a lot of irregularity going on in forests or forests, starting from illegal killing of fish in forests or pastures.
The government has invested hundreds of crores of rupees in three upazilas of Patuakhali under the Sufal project through afforestation to protect the land of the region so that they can protect the grasslands that arise in the middle of the river or the sea . The government is constantly working through Sufal projects to improve the people and biodiversity of the region by focusing on char , as well as playing a role in filling the lack of oxygen .
