Kolkata Knight Riders have dropped Mustafizur Rahman from the squad for the IPL citing security concerns. Since then, discussions have begun on whether Bangladesh will play the T20 World Cup in India next February.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has written to the ICC on Sunday (January 4) demanding a change in venue. BCB Director and Cricket Operations Chairman Nazmul Abedin Fahim confirmed this to Jago News.

This afternoon, 17 board directors took a new decision to write a letter to the ICC. Then the mail was sent to the ICC.

In a conversation about sending the letter to the ICC, BCB Director and Cricket Operations Chairman Nazmul Abedin Fahim said that a letter has been sent to the ICC. What is the comment in the letter?

In response, Nazmul Abedin Fahim expressed reluctance to say anything directly. He only said that a press release is being given from the BCB, which will contain details.

Will Bangladesh not go to India to play the T20 World Cup?

In response, BCB Director Fahim replied, “We have asked for an alternative. You will know the official statement of BCB in a short while.”

After saying this, the BCB Cricket Operations Committee Chairman also said that the BCB’s letter does not mention demanding an explanation from India regarding Mustafiz. BCB does not want to bother about it before the World Cup.

In the email, BCB wrote, “It is not possible to send a team to India for the T20 World Cup due to security concerns.” For this reason, the board has also requested to move the venue.

Sri Lanka is the joint host of the upcoming 10th edition of the T20 World Cup with India. Pakistan will play their matches in Sri Lanka. They are also getting the opportunity to play in Sri Lanka due to security reasons. For the same reason, Bangladesh also wants to play their matches in Sri Lanka.
