The police have arrested two members of a gang named Hriday Roy (35) and Al-Amin (32) in connection with a double robbery in the remote Goma village of Barisal by cutting the grill and taking the entire family hostage at gunpoint. Two days after the incident, Bakerganj Police Station managed to arrest the suspect Hriday Roy (35), son of Gaurang Roy of Bolian Para area of Sundarkathi in Dudhal Union, two days after the incident. Al-Amin, son of Mohiuddin Khokon of Balikathi village in Charadi union, was arrested on Tuesday evening through his confession and tracking of his mobile phone. According to Thana police and local sources, last Saturday (February 25) late at night, at the house of Atahar Uddin Technical and Business Management College, Professor Mahbubur Rahman Liton, Goma village in Dudhal Union, a group of 8/10 masked armed robbers broke into the house and took the entire family hostage at gunpoint. Two and a half lakhs in cash, gold ornaments and at least 20 lakhs of goods were taken away. The robbers broke some cupboards, wardrobes and drawers of the dressing table and took documents, important work papers and ransacked the goods. Principal Mahbubur Rahman submitted a written statement to Bakerganj Police Station on Sunday morning. In the statement, Principal Mahbubur Rahman Liton complained that when everyone was asleep after having dinner on Saturday, armed robbers attacked his house late at night and entered the house by cutting the grill of the window of the house and took the entire family hostage at gunpoint and broke the wardrobe, wardrobe and dressing table drawers and took 250,000 in cash. At least 20 lakhs worth of goods including money, gold ornaments, land documents, important job documents were looted. Two days after the incident, police arrested Hriday Roy, son of Gaurang Roy of Bolian Para of Sundarkathi, who was suspected to be involved in the second robbery, and according to his confession, he was arrested on Tuesday evening by mobile trucking, the son of Mohiuddin Khokon, son of Mohiuddin Khokon of Balikathi village of West Charadi Union. -Amin was arrested. The two arrested members of the bandits have been handed over to the court.
Maksudur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bakerganj police station, said that two defendants have been arrested in the robbery case and sent to court. The operation to arrest other members of the gang continues.
