The court granted a five-day remand to Awami League leader and the defeated upazila chairman candidate of Dumuria upazila Azgar Ali Tara Biswas in the murder case of Sharafpur UP Chairman Sheikh Rabiul Islam Ravi in ​​Khulna. On Tuesday (July 09) at noon, the Additional District Judicial Magistrate court granted his 5-day remand after the hearing. Advocate Sujit Adhikari, counsel for the accused, confirmed the truth of his remand.
Advocate Sujit Adhikari said that Azgar Ali Tara Biswas, who was arrested in the murder case of Sharafpur UP Chairman Sheikh Rabiul Islam Ravi, was produced by the Additional District Judicial Magistrate’s Court and applied for a 10-day remand. After the hearing, the court granted his 5-day remand.

Earlier on Monday at around 11 o’clock, Azgar Ali Tara Biswas’ office was raided in Mustafar Mor area of ​​Rayer Mahal of the city. At that time, Azgar Ali (Tara Biswas) Biswas, a member of the district Awami League and the defeated chairman candidate in the Dumuria upazila election, was detained by the District Detective Police (DB). After arresting him, the police raided different places. Meanwhile, after arresting Biswas, the Dumuria police station raided the office of Biswas’ properties owned by them for three hours and seized a shotgun, a toy pistol, a revolver-like lighter, 57 rounds of cartridges and 9 rounds of cartridge shells.
It is to be noted that Sharafpur Union Parishad Chairman and Awami League leader Sheikh Rabiul Islam Ravi (46) was killed by miscreants at Gutudia Wapdar Mor intersection of Dumuria upazila at around 10:15 last Saturday night.
Shayla Erin, the wife of Robi, who was killed in this incident, filed a murder case at Dumuria police station last Sunday night, mentioning the names of 5/6 persons as accused. Among the accused, the names of Robi’s opponent in the last UP election, a chairman candidate of the last upazila election have been mentioned.
