Seven people, including BNP leader Renu Akhter, were seriously injured in a surprise attack in South Charbiswam area of ​​ward number 6 of Charbiswam union in Galachipa upazila of Patuakhali due to previous enmity.
The incident took place at 11 am on August 6, the day after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned. The victim Renu Akhter held a press conference at Galachipa Press Club to protest the attack.
In the press conference, the victim Renu Akhtar said that on August 6, around 11:00 am, on their way home after finishing work, Charbiswam Union BNP leader Md Bak Biswas, who was already in Otapet, led by Sipan Gazi, Tuhin Gazi, Sahin Gazi, Nipu Gazi, Imam Gazi, Abbas Chowdhury and some other strangers. Organized together and carried out terrorist attacks with domestic sharp weapons.
In this, Shahin Howladar was seriously injured, Shahadat Howladar was seriously injured by the local sharp weapons of the terrorists, on the other hand, Renu Akhter and her son Siam were also victims of the attack. At that time, when the locals shouted, the terrorists went away threatening to kill them. Seeing the bad condition of the injured, the locals quickly took them to Galachipa Hospital and the doctor gave them first aid and referred them to Barisal Shebachim Hospital. When taken to Barisal Shebachim Hospital, the hospital authorities did not keep him there. They immediately referred to Dhaka Pangu Hospital. Currently, they are under treatment at Dhaka Paralympic Hospital. He said that so far no case has been filed with the police. He also said that he could not take any legal action as the police station was closed due to the ongoing anti-discrimination student movement in the country. He demanded the administration and the state to quickly arrest the criminals and punish them.
