Police arrested four drug dealers while smuggling ganja by boat in Kasba of Brahmanbaria. At that time, 100 kg of ganja was recovered from that boat. The police raided Titas River Ghat area of Maidaganj Bazar in Moolgram Union of the upazila at around one o’clock on Sunday night. The arrested are Jahar Lal Chandra Das (56) of Amodabad village of Akhaura upazila of the district, Siraj Mia (55) of Kashinagar village of Vijaynagar upazila, Md Shahid Mia (50) of the same village and Tushar (18) of Uthariapara of the same upazila. After filing the case, they were sent to jail through the court on Monday.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kasba police station. Mohiuddin said, based on secret information, an engine driven boat was seized by raiding Titas river ghat on the north side of Maidaganj market. Later, the boat was searched and four people were arrested along with 100 kg of ganja. A case has been filed in Kasba police station in this incident.
