Kalkini of Madaripur suspected of theft. A youth named Azizul Shikder (32) has been accused of being beaten to death. The incident took place on Wednesday (October 11) morning in Sidikhan area of the upazila.
According to police and local sources, the name of the deceased is Azizul Shikder. He is the son of Rahim Shikdar of Pangasiya village in the municipality. The deceased Azizul left for Sidikhan area from the fish market in the municipal area at high speed in the morning with a battery operated van. When he reached Siddikhan, the locals beat him up and left him on the side of the road, suspecting him to be a thief. Later local people took Azizul seriously injured to Kalkini Upazila Health Complex where he died.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalkini Police Station, Md. Nazmul Hasan said, “We recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to Madaripur Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. However, if the victim’s family files a case, action will be taken subject to investigation.
