On the instructions of Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the forest department took control of an elephant that was brutally beaten recently on Thursday morning. The injured elephant at Daudkandi in Comilla was found in the Bakhrabad gas field area of ​​Devidwar. After a night-long effort, the elephant was rescued from Sonaullah village in Muradnagar. After the preliminary health checkup, the elephant has been sent to Gazipur Safari Park.
The elephant was identified with the help of Comilla Forest Department and volunteers under the supervision of Ministry Secretary and Chief Conservator of Forests. The situation became complicated due to non-cooperation of the mahout, but the elephant was arrested and brought under control on Thursday morning. Currently, the rescue team has left for Gazipur Safari Park with the elephant. Besides, legal action against the owner of the elephant is under process.
Note that a video of the described elephant being brutally beaten has spread widely on social media. When the matter came to the attention of the adviser of the ministry, he gave instructions to rescue the elephant on an urgent basis. Following the guidance of the advisor, the elephant was rescued by the combined efforts of the Wildlife and Nature Conservation Area of ​​the Forest Department, Comilla Forest Department and the local people.
