A madrasa student named Monir Hossain (12) was killed after being hit by a trolley driven by a shallow engine in Aditmari upazila of the district.
The accident took place on Wednesday (September 13) at around 12 noon in Hajiganj area of Kamalbari union of the upazila.
The deceased is the son of Abu Taleb of Bakshitari area of Velabari union of Monir upazila. He was a student of the local Jamtala Hafizia Madrasah.
Police and locals said that Monir was going to Jamtala Hafizia Madrasa by walking through Chaparhat Velabari bypass road as usual. On the way to Hajiganj area, a trolley full of sand from behind hit him.
Monir was seriously injured. Locals rescued him with serious injuries and took him to Aditmari Upazila Health Complex where he died. Locals seized the killer trolley but the driver escaped.
Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the police have been sent to the spot.
