A schoolgirl named Bijli Khatun (10) died after being electrocuted while collecting wood in Aditmari Upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The accident happened on Wednesday morning in Goni Mor area of ​​Mahishkhocha Union of Upazila.
The deceased Bijli Khatun is the daughter of van driver Matiar Rahman of Rasulpara village in that area. He is a class IV student of Mahishkhocha Government Primary School.
Mahishkhocha Union Parishad member Abdul Hanif Miah said that a large number of children including schoolgirl Bijli Khatun went to the local garden to use the wood from the dry branches of the garden that had collapsed in the storm as fuel. The electric light wires inside the garden were torn by the storm.
Suddenly the wire got electrocuted. Realizing this, the other children started shouting. Meanwhile, the locals rushed to rescue Bijli and took him to Aditmari Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead.
