A child named Atushi Rani (2) died after drowning in a drain in Aditmari, Lalmonirhat.
The accident happened at his home in Aditamari village of Vadai Union of the upazila around noon on Sunday (August 27). Atushi is the daughter of Ratan Chandra of that village.
Vadai Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Krishnakant Roy Bidur said that Atushi was playing in the yard of the house.
At this time, he fell into the drain next to him. Later, the people of the house rescued him from there and took him to Aditmari Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors on duty declared him dead.
