Bangladesh Awami League candidate for Comilla-8 (Barura) Constituency, auto-rickshaws, sewing machines under social responsibility for employment of unemployed people and poverty alleviation funded by Comilla South District Awami League Vice President A.Z.M.Shafiuddin (Shamim). , various types of financial support including maternity grants for expectant mothers, treatment of poor patients, assistance to mosques and temples and honoring of senior and martyred Awami League leaders of the area. On Friday (September 8, 2023) afternoon in the field adjacent to Maheshpur Puran Bazar, 9 wards of the union provided 1 auto rickshaw to 9 unemployed helpless men, 1 sewing machine to 9 helpless women, medical assistance to 9 sick patients, 9 children. Maternity allowance to destitute women, honors and gifts to 22 martyrs and senior Awami League leaders and financial donations to 7 mosques and 2 temples.

Comilla South District Awami League Vice President A.Z.M.Shafiuddin (Shamim) was present as the chief guest in the program under the chairmanship of Awami League leader of Khoshbas South Union Parishad Abdul Quader. Sudhi people of the area said that those who are working hard even at the end of their life due to helplessness and poverty, are unable to treat the plight of helpless poor women, health issues of maternity mothers and extreme poverty for whom such a humanitarian initiative is a timely and commendable work.

The father of a help seeker who came to seek medical help said, I could not feed the children for two full meals in a poor family, I was very worried about the treatment of the child there. With the help of Shamim Bhai, now I can treat the child well.

A. Z. M. Shafiuddin (Shamim) said in the speech of the chief guest, “We are doing this to reduce dependency and provide self-employment, the health of expectant mothers and unborn children, those who cannot be treated in extreme poverty, to be by their side. I have taken initiative to help. Apart from this, there are many senior and dedicated leaders of our party who have selflessly worked for the party, spent their own money and worked for the party. I feel blessed to honor them on this occasion today. He said that distribution of grants has already been completed in Aganagar, Payalgacha, Shilmuri (D), Khoshbas (U) and Shakpur Unions of the upazila, and this program will be continued in every union of Barura Upazila. He further said that making poor people self-reliant, eradicating poverty, reducing unemployment, developing skilled manpower and creating employment is one of the goals of me and SQ Foundation. My family has been carrying out various programs for the past 30 years to realize this goal.

He also said that in the last 14 and a half years Bangladesh has achieved significant success in almost all economic indicators during the regime of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh has now become a developing country from a less developed country. Every citizen of the state is enjoying the benefits of Digital Bangladesh. The standard of living has changed through education, health, per capita income, civic services and multifaceted social security programs. Economic development of Bangladesh is now unstoppable through various mega projects implemented and ongoing. The people of the country are now enjoying the benefits of the elevated expressway from Payra Sea Port, Padma Bridge, Metrorail, Airport to Qutubkhali near Jatrabari. Karnaphuli tunnel will be launched in Chittagong very soon. Bangladesh will become a modern state in South Asia after the completion of several ongoing major projects including Matarbari deep sea port, Rooppur nuclear power plant.

I personally and through our SQ Foundation are working to improve the quality of life of people in Comilla South namely as Barura through multifaceted support programs including food, education, medical treatment, housing. It is one of the upazilas of a developed and prosperous smart Bangladesh free from hunger-poverty-exploitation-deprivation and corruption of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. So let us all vote together to ensure the continuity of development and modernization under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and re-elect Bangabandhu’s leader Sheikh Hasina and her party.

It should be noted that recently Shafiuddin Shamim, as a development salesman of the government, has installed a smart LED electronic billboard on Hospital Road of Barura Municipality to widely highlight the multi-dimensional development activities, successes and social security programs of the Awami League government among the marginalized people and through mobile smart LED vans in Comilla South. Organized exhibitions of the government’s development activities in important markets and public places of various upazilas.
