A young woman named Iti Rani Das (18), a passenger in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw, was killed by a truck in Brahmanbaria’s Sarail on Thursday morning. Ramcharan Das of Nasirnagar union of Nasirnagar upazila of Iti district who died in the accident in Dharanti area of Sarail-Nasirnagar regional road. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sarail police station. Aslam Hossain said, Iti Rani along with his family members were going to Nasirnagar from Sarail. Iti died on the spot when a truck coming from the opposite direction hit the CNGT in an area called Dharanti. Iti’s body was recovered and sent to the district headquarters hospital morgue for post-mortem. In this incident, a case has been filed with the police station on behalf of the deceased’s family against unknown persons. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest the killer truck.
