A young man named Bajlu Mia (25) was beaten to death on suspicion of being a thief in Brahmanbaria’s Sarail. In this incident, a young man named Sujan who was with Bajlu was injured. The incident took place in Lopara village of Chunta Union of the upazila on Tuesday morning .

The deceased is the son of Ali Afzal of Lopara village of Bajlu Chunta Union. Sujan is the son of Shafiqul Islam of the same village. Sujan took treatment at Sarail Upazila Health Complex.

Confirming the truth of the incident, Sarail police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Emranul Islam said that a youth named Bajlu was beaten to death by the people of the area on suspicion of being a thief. Injured another. He quoted the locals as saying that they were beaten up when Alfaz went to Mia’s house to steal.
