A railway employee was killed after being hit by a train at Laksam in Comilla.The accident took place around 11:30 am on Sunday morning at Naoti Railway Station Amduar area.
The deceased’s name is Mofizur Rahman (70). He was a former railway employee working as a key-man. He is the son of deceased Mokhleshur Rahman of Ajkara Union Amdua Dakshin Bari of Laksam Upazila.
SI Anwar Hossain of the police outpost of Laksam railway station said that Mofizur Rahman was crossing the railway line in the Amduar area of the railway station in the morning.
At that time, he died on the spot after being hit by a train called Vijay Express leaving Chittagong. Mofizur Rahman worked as a key-man in Railways. While working, he suffered a stroke about two years ago and was mentally ill.
The SI of the police station also said that the body of the employee who was hit by the train was recovered and sent to the Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case of wrongful death has been registered in the police station in this incident.
