A procession was held on the occasion of Lord Krishna’s Janmashtami, one of the religious festivals of Sanatan Dharma followers in Barura, Comilla. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sabrina Afrin Mustafa was present as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Gopal Chandra Saha, President of Barura Nri-Sinhadeva and Jagannath Temple Management Committee at 2 pm on Wednesday. Dr. Tapan Bhowmik, President of Bangladesh Puja Udjaj Parishad Barura Upazila Branch, Sudarshan Bhadra, General Secretary of Nri-Singhdev and Jagannath Temple Management Committee, Master Tapan Krishna Banik, General Secretary of Bangladesh Puja Udjaj Parishad Barura Upazila Branch, Nri-Singhdev and Jagannath Temple Management Committee were present. Joint General Secretary Tapas Lal Dutta, Vice President Karthik Debnath, Treasurer Benutosh Das, Vice Treasurer Motilal Debnath, Kalimata Mandir Management Committee President Vinay Bhushan Saha, Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad Chief Advisor Master Arun Bhushan Dey, General Secretary Journalist Salil Ranjan Biswas, while Members of various traditional organizations were present in the procession. The procession left the premises of Nri-Sinhadeva and Jagannath Temples and circled the various roads of the city and the Upazila Parishad premises and came back to the temple premises.
