On the second day of the three-day blockade called by BNP-Jamaat, leaders and activists of upazila Awami League and affiliated organizations held a peace rally and protest march at Akhaura in Brahmanbaria.
On Wednesday (November 1) at 12:00 pm, the procession left the city market, the hero freedom fighter advocate Sirajul Haque, came out from the city square and after circling the main road of the city, came to the city square and held a peace rally.
Upazila Awami League President Mohammad Ali Chowdhury addressed the peace rally under the chairmanship of Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Municipal Mayor Md Takzil Khalifa Kajal.
He said that in order to hinder the development of the country and to thwart the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections, BNP Jamaat is engaged in creating anarchy in the country by killing people and arson. The arson act of BNP Jamaat will be strongly resisted from the streets along with Awami League and all the people of the independence movement.
Former General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Monir Hossain Babul, Joint Convener of Upazila Jubo League Abdul Momin Babul, Convener of Municipal Jubo League Anis Khan, Upazila Chhatra League President Shahab Uddin Beg Shaplu, General Secretary Sakhawat Hossain Nayan, Municipal Council Sirajul Islam Imran, Enamul Haque, Rekha Khanom, Awami League leader Babul Parvez along with Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League leaders and activists.
