A freedom fighter was killed by a microbus in Brahmanbaria

Ā A freedom fighter named Syed Shafiqul Islam (75) died on Tuesday morning after being hit by a microbus at Brahmanbaria Bishwa Road junction of Dhaka-Sylhet highway. Shafiqul Islam is the son of Syed Murtaz Molla of West Medda (Sharifpur) Municipal area. It was found that Shafiqul Islam was going to his son’s business establishment at Bishwa Road junction from the district town as usual. On the way, he was walking on the side of the road in front of the Newaz pump at Bishwar road junction Khwaja Garib when he was hit by a microbus coming from behind and fell on the side of the road. Locals rescued him and brought him to Brahmanbaria General Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Bishwa Road Khantikhata Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akul Chandra Biswas said that the killer microbus has been seized. He said that necessary legal action will be taken in this incident.
