Mohammad Idris : A man named Hamdu Mia (53) was killed in a clash between two parties over a dispute over playing Ludo in Bijoynagar of Brahmanbaria district.
The incident took place at 9 am Todays (August 1) at Bandar’s house in Bagdia village of Harshpur union of the upazila. At least 15 people from both sides were injured in the incident.
Police said that yesterday afternoon, Hamdu Mia’s son Nirab (11) and Yasin (12) son of Abul Islam of the same village got into a fight over playing Ludo. At that time, Yasin was hit on the head by Hamdu Mia’s stick. Following this incident, a group of people led by Abul Islam attacked Hamdu Mia’s house with country-made weapons on Saturday morning. During the clash, Hamdu Mia was killed on the spot.
Bijoynagar Police Station OC Md. Ahsan Ullah said that after receiving information, the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. Preparations are underway to recover the body and send it for autopsy.
