Abdul Haque, Manikganj Correspondent: Police have arrested a young man with 20 pieces of Yaba in an anti-drug operation in Harirampur upazila of Manikganj.
According to police sources, on July 31, 2026, at around 2:35 pm, a raid was conducted on the paved road in front of the main gate of Jhitka Anand Mohan School under Harirampur police station. At that time, a young man named Md. Faisal Hossain (23) was searched and 20 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from him.
The arrested Faisal Hossain is the son of the deceased Billal Hossain of Gopinathpur Majam Para village in Harirampur upazila.
A case has been filed at Harirampur Police Station under Section 36(1) of Table 10(a) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, after seizing the drugs recovered in this incident.
Police said the arrested accused has been handed over to the court and investigations are ongoing to identify the source of the drugs and other people involved.
