Remembering the immortal contribution and sacrifice of the martyrs of the July Uprising, ‘July Martyrs’ Day 2026′ was celebrated in Pirojpur with due dignity and deep respect.
On the occasion of the day, on Thursday (July 16), the district administration paid tribute to the July Memorial on the morning, and later a special discussion meeting was organized in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Sayeed. The speakers in the meeting highlighted the significance of the sacrifice of the martyrs in the July Uprising, freedom, democracy, justice and the struggle to establish a society without discrimination with deep respect.
The speakers mentioned in their speeches that the sacrifice of the martyrs of July will be remembered forever as a glorious chapter written in golden letters in the history of Bangladesh. This heroic story will show the way to the new generation as a unique and shining example of patriotism, infinite courage, great sacrifice and human values. Everyone is called upon to fulfill their responsibilities from their respective positions to maintain national interests, social harmony and the continuity of the country’s development.
All those present at the meeting collectively prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs and offered special prayers for the speedy recovery and overall well-being of those injured in the movement.
The ceremony was attended by Pirojpur Police Superintendent Mohammad Manjur Ahmed Siddiqui, District Council Administrator Principal Alamgir Hossain, senior officials of various government departments of the district, representatives of law enforcement agencies, heroic freedom fighters, representatives of the July movement, local political figures, educationists, media workers, religious leaders, representatives of civil society, and ordinary people from different classes and professions.
