Mohammad Sohel, Sr.Reporter Cox’s Bazar : During the recent heavy rains, the upazila administration has taken initiatives to inspect the overall situation of various educational institutions in various areas of Maheshkhali, Dwip Upazila, collect damage information, monitor teaching activities, student attendance, infrastructure condition, cleanliness activities, and provide necessary assistance to maintain normal education and healthcare services in the post-disaster period.
On July 14 (Tuesday), Upazila Executive Officer Imran Mahmud Dalim visited various areas of Maheshkhali including Jorapukur Par Government Primary School, Jorapukur Par Community Clinic, Baro Maheshkhali Government Primary School, Munsirdale Government Primary School and Keruntali Government Primary School.
At that time, Souvrat Das, Upazila Project Implementation Officer, Maheshkhali, Omar Faruk, Upazila Education Officer, Maheshkhali and other concerned persons were present.
During the inspection, the UNO said that the teaching activities, student attendance, infrastructure condition, cleanliness and post-disaster situation of the educational institution were reviewed. At the same time, the quality of healthcare, availability of medicines and patient services at the Jorapukur Par Community Clinic were examined and necessary guidelines were provided.
He further said that restoring normal living and educational environment in the post-disaster period is one of the priorities of the upazila administration. To this end, regular inspections of educational institutions and healthcare centers, identification of problems and taking necessary measures are ongoing.
In addition, necessary measures are being taken quickly by monitoring the condition of damaged roads, educational institutions, shelters and public facilities in coordination with the concerned departments. He also said that the upazila administration is continuing its activities to ensure relief assistance, clean water and necessary medical services to the flood-affected and affected families.
The Upazila Administration, Maheshkhali is always by the side of the people with the aim of a speedy return to normal life.
