The first ‘Orientation-2026’ of Level-1, Semester-1 fresh students admitted in the 2025-2026 academic year of the newly started ‘B.Sc. Vet. Science & A. H.’ Degree at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has been completed.
The program was organized on Tuesday (July 7) at the Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Room of the university. The program was presided over by the founding Dean of the School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Professor Dr. Md. Bahanur Rahman, and A.S.M. Golam Hafiz, member of the Bangladesh Labor Commission and Professor of the Agricultural Finance and Banking Department of BAU, were present as guests. Assistant Professor Tanvir Ahmed of the Department of Poultry Science and Assistant Professor Dr. Maria Afrin of the Department of Anatomy and Histology jointly moderated the program, and Vice-Chairman of the Orientation Committee and Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Professor Dr. Md. Rakibul Islam Khan, delivered the welcome speech. In addition, Professor Dr. Minara Khatun of the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene and Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Shariful Islam of the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics gave a directional discussion about the educational programs of this new faculty. The heads of various departments of the concerned faculties, teachers, new students and their guardians, along with officials and employees, were present at the program. In addition, orientations for new students were held separately at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Fisheries Science and Interdisciplinary Institute for Food Security (IIFS) of the university. In these events, organized in the presence of the deans, heads of departments and teachers of the respective faculties and institutes, necessary guidance was provided to the students about academic activities, discipline, co-curricular activities and various facilities of the university.
