AI & Data Science at ISU: A New Chapter in Engineering Education

International Standard University (ISU) has introduced a Bachelor of Science Engineering (BSc Engg.) in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, marking a significant step toward preparing skilled professionals for the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
The program received formal approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh on Wednesday (24th June 2026) and will be offered under the Faculty of Advanced Science and Computing.
According to the university, ISU has consistently focused on providing quality, affordable, and career-oriented higher education since its inception. The newly approved program aims to produce competent engineers with expertise in artificial intelligence and data science, enabling graduates to meet the growing demands of both the domestic and global technology industries while creating greater opportunities for higher studies and research.
The 152-credits undergraduate program offers a comprehensive curriculum covering Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, Cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies. Students will also benefit from research opportunities, modern laboratory facilities, and industry-oriented projects designed to strengthen practical skills alongside academic knowledge.
To promote academic excellence and wider access to higher education, the university has introduced merit-based tuition waivers for eligible students.
ISU currently offers academic programs through five faculties and eight departments. These include Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) under the Faculty of Business Studies; Computer Science and Engineering, Textile Engineering, and Apparel Merchandising and Management (AMM) under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; BA (Hons) in English, MA in English Literature and Cultural Studies, and LLB (Hons) under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The university also offers a Master of Public Health (MPH) program.
