President Times Report :

A fraudulent recruitment scheme using the name and identity of the well-known non-profit organization Bidyanondo Foundation has surfaced online, allegedly targeting job seekers across Bangladesh. A fake job circular, designed to resemble an official recruitment notice, has been circulating on social media and various online platforms, creating confusion among applicants.

An investigation found that the scammers used the name “Bidyanondo School (1 Taka School)” in the fake advertisement and invited applications for several positions, including Regional Education Officer, Education Coordinator, Assistant Teacher, and Peon.

According to several applicants, the fraudsters asked candidates to submit their CVs and academic documents through a personal Gmail account. After receiving applications, the scammers sent confirmation messages claiming that the candidates had been selected for the positions.

The applicants were then asked to pay an initial “processing fee” or “service charge” of BDT 470 through the Nagad mobile financial service. The money was reportedly requested to be sent to a specific mobile number used by the fraudsters.

Sources said the scammers communicated with applicants in a professional and convincing manner to gain their trust. Within 24 hours of receiving the initial payment, they allegedly contacted the victims again and demanded additional amounts ranging from BDT 4,000 to BDT 5,000.
A school teacher, who requested anonymity, shared her experience with the fake recruitment process. She applied for the position of Regional Education Officer mentioned in the circular and paid the initial fee through Nagad.

“They sounded very professional at first. But when they contacted me again within a day and demanded thousands of taka more, their behaviour raised suspicion,” she said.

Following the incident, the teacher’s family contacted Bidyanondo’s official communication channel for verification. A Bidyanondo official confirmed that the organization had not published any such recruitment notice.

“These recruitment circulars are completely fake.
Unfortunately, some online job platforms publish such advertisements without proper verification, putting innocent job seekers at risk,” the official said.

The organization has urged everyone to remain cautious and verify all recruitment information through official sources before sharing personal documents or making any financial transactions.

Bidyanondo authorities have also confirmed that a General Diary (GD) has been filed with the police against those involved in the fraudulent activities.
Experts have warned that online job scams are increasing rapidly, and job seekers should remain careful about sharing personal information, academic documents, or making payments without proper verification.
