477 families receive family cards in Tentulia, Panchagarh

In the third phase of the family card piloting program in Tentulia, Panchagarh, family cards have been distributed among 477 underprivileged families. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the family card distribution on Wednesday by connecting virtually from the Moulvibazar Government High School grounds.

​Immediately after the inauguration, the cards were handed over to local beneficiaries at the Bhajanpur Devnagar Government Primary School grounds in Tentulia Upazila. According to relevant sources, a total of 477 families from 6 villages under Ward No. 8 of Devnagar Union have been brought under this piloting program. At the same time, one fruit tree sapling was distributed among each beneficiary family to protect the environment. In addition, with the help of digital technology, the allowance money reached the beneficiaries’ mobile wallets directly after the inauguration by the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was virtually involved in the card distribution ceremony and listened to the feelings and statements of the local beneficiaries. At this time, the local common people expressed their excitement at being able to talk directly to the Prime Minister and receiving the allowance money on their mobile phones in the shortest possible time. The beneficiaries said that as a result of this humanitarian initiative of the government, marginalized and backward families will get special benefits, which will play a very important role in improving their standard of living.

Panchagarh Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shukria Parveen presided over the card distribution ceremony organized at Bhajanpur Debnagar Government Primary School grounds. Panchagarh-1 MP Barrister Muhammad Nowshad Zamir was present as the chief guest. Panchagarh Police Superintendent Md. Abu Saim, Social Services (DD) Anil Chandra Barman, Tentulia Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Afroz Shahin Khusru, and Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Laisur Rahman were present at the ceremony. In addition, officials from various levels of administration, local public representatives, political figures, and dignitaries from the area were present at the event.
