The Galachipa Upazila administration honored Jamila Akhter, a talented child student of Galachipa Upazila of Patuakhali, for securing fourth place in the high jump (girl) competition of the National Primary Education Medal-2026.

A reception ceremony was organized by the Galachipa Upazila administration at 10 am on Wednesday, June 17.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abuzar Md. Ijazul Haque formally presented Jamila with a greeting and honor crest at his office.

Jamila is the daughter of Md. Shahjalal, a mason from Ratnadi village of Galachipa Sadar Union and a fifth-grade student of Ratnadi Government Primary School.

According to the family, since childhood, her interest and perseverance in sports have brought her to the brink of success one after another. As she came from a low-income family in the coastal region and achieved success at the national level, various teachers, guardians, and students now consider Jamila an inspiration for local students. Her achievement will play an important role in the country’s sports arena.

It is worth noting that before participating in the national level, Jamila participated in union, upazila, district, and divisional level competitions and won first place every time, proving her talent and skills. Following that path of continuous success, she got the opportunity to participate in national level competitions and competed with the best competitors in the country and won fourth place.

Upazila Engineer Md. Jahangir Alam, Upazila Public Health Engineer Abdur Rahman, Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Golam Sagir, Assistant Primary Education Officer Waliul Islam, Ratnadi Government Primary School Principal Lutfun Nahar, and Assistant Teacher Farana were present at the award ceremony of the talented student Jamila.

Jamila’s family, teachers, students, and local residents are delighted with this achievement. It is the public’s expectation that if she receives proper training and government support, she will achieve greater success in the national and international arenas in the future.
