I want your cooperation to free Feni from terrorist extortionist youth gangs, Feni district’s new police superintendent Pratyush Kumar Majumder said, accepting bribes in the name of police clearance or service will not be tolerated. If a bribe is taken for police clearance, the concerned police will not be able to work in this district. He said these things during an exchange of views with journalists at the district police superintendent’s office on Tuesday (June 16) morning. He also said, I was in charge as SP of a district before. I was in a very strong position during my duty in that district so that no guilty person is left out of the case and no innocent person is harassed. I can guarantee you that no innocent person will be unnecessarily framed in a case in Feni. No matter how powerful the real culprit is, he will not be left out of the case. It is not possible to completely eradicate drugs. However, I will try to take effective measures to reduce the menace of drugs in Feni district. Finally, District Superintendent of Police Pratyush Kumar sought the cooperation of journalists in maintaining the overall law and order situation in the district, as well as in eradicating drugs and suppressing juvenile gangs. Journalists also assured the Superintendent of Police of all cooperation. Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Saidur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Muhammad Saiful Islam and other senior officials of the district police were present at the exchange of views. Earlier, yesterday, Monday (June 15), the outgoing Superintendent of Police Md. Shafiqul Islam was formally taken over by the new Superintendent of Police Pratyush Kumar Majumdar. Earlier, he served as the Special Superintendent of Police in the CID (Crime Investigation Department). This officer of the 25th batch of BCS is a resident of Satkhira district.
