Fulbaria Correspondent: The internal Boro season paddy-rice collection program has been inaugurated at the government food warehouse in Fulbaria Upazila of Mymensingh.
On Tuesday (May 19) morning, Jatiya Sangsad Member Principal Md. Kamrul Hasan Milon inaugurated the collection program as the chief guest at the food warehouse adjacent to Fulbaria Fish Market.
In his speech as the chief guest, presided over by Upazila Executive Officer and Upazila Paddy-Rice Collection Monitoring Committee President Shahidul Islam Sohag, Kamrul Hasan Milon MP said that if farmers survive, the country will survive. The government is working sincerely to ensure fair prices for farmers. He also requested everyone to take care that no farmer is harassed and to perform their duties with transparency and accountability.
Present at the time were Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer, Agronomist Shahnaz Parveen, Food Controller Mohammad Saidur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge Bulbul Ahmed, Deputy Assistant Plant Protection Officer Md. Abu Raihan, Chairman of Alam Asia Pvt. Ltd. SM Shahjahan, Businessman Abul Kalam Sarkar, Bulbul and others.
Acting Food Warehouse Officer Bulbul Ahmed said that this time in the Boro season, the Fulbaria Food Warehouse has set a target of collecting 3,300 metric tons of rice and 2,090 metric tons of paddy. According to the government decision, rice will be purchased directly from farmers at a price of 49 taka per kg and 36 taka per kg of paddy. This government paddy-rice collection campaign will continue simultaneously nationwide until 31 August .
