The current joint convener of the committee, Abdur Rahman Babul, has been given the responsibility of the acting member secretary of Gouripur Upazila BNP in Mymensingh district. Earlier, on April 8, after the expulsion of committee member secretary Hafez Md. Azizul Haque in the oil scandal, Abdur Rahman Babul was replaced with the acting responsibility to maintain the balance of the organization. This news has created excitement among party leaders and activists.
Mymensingh North District BNP Joint Convener Motahar Hossain Talukder confirmed this information on Thursday (April 30) afternoon.
Earlier, the acting responsibility was given in a notice jointly signed by North District BNP Convener Professor A.K.M. Enayet Ullah Kalam and Joint Convener Motahar Hossain Talukder last night.
Motahar Hossain Talukder said, the acting responsibility has been given to make the organizational activities of the Upazila BNP more dynamic. This decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the organization.
In a response, the newly appointed Upazila BNP acting member secretary Abdur Rahman Babul expressed his gratitude to BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and said, “In addition to fulfilling the expectations of the party leaders and activists in organizational activities, I will try to increase the reputation of the party. In this regard, I seek the cooperation of leaders and activists from all walks of life and supporters.
Incidentally, Upazila BNP convener Ahmed Tayebur Rahman Hiron was expelled for taking a stand against the party in the last 13th National Parliament election and for being involved in anti-organization activities in a clash. Then, the acting responsibility has been given to both posts as the committee member secretary was recently expelled in the oil scandal.
