The finals and prize distribution ceremony of the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament 2026 was held with the participation of children studying at Government Primary Schools in Barura, Comilla.
On Monday, April 27, at 3 pm, at the Barura Municipality Girls Government Primary School ground, the program was organized under the chairmanship of Barura Upazila Executive Officer Asaduzzaman Rony. Barura Upazila BNP President Kaiser Alam Selim was present as the chief guest, Barura Upazila BNP General Secretary Syed Jahirul Haque Swapan was present as the special guest, Barura Upazila BNP General Secretary Syed Jahirul Haque Swapan, Vice President and President of Barura Market Business Committee Md. Humayun Kabir Patwary, Member Secretary of Barura Upazila Sports Organization Zafar Ahmed Khandaker, Barura Municipality BNP Joint General Secretary and former Municipal Councilor Md. Zakir Hossain, and Barura Municipality Volunteer Party Joint Convener Md. Jasim Uddin Chowdhury. The program was conducted by Barura Upazila Education Officer Md. Jahangir Alam. On this day, in the final game of the Primary School Gold Cup Football (Boys-Girls) 2026 Upazila level, Muggaon Government Primary School boys’ team, Nayantala Government Primary School girls’ team became champions at the Upazila level, Koriyagram and Chottapukuria Government Primary Schools became runners-up. Prizes were distributed after the game. At this time, in his speech as the chief guest, Barura Upazila BNP President Kaiser Alam Selim said that education is the backbone of the nation, so children should be given proper education, so if every teacher can be developed as a skilled craftsman, it will be possible to provide quality education. Along with studies, every child should be proficient in sports and cultural competitions, so he instructed every educational institution to encourage children to participate in literary, cultural and sports competitions along with studies.
