Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, the election campaign for BNP’s nominated candidate for Rangamati-299 parliamentary constituency, Advocate Dipen Dewan, has come to a bang in Kaptai. The campaign program was officially concluded with a massive mass rally, mass contact and leaflet distribution in Chandraghona Union No. 1 of Kaptai Upazila on Monday (February 9) afternoon.
Rangamati District BNP Vice President Dr. Rahmatullah was present as the chief guest at the program. He said in his speech, “There is no alternative to the victory of the sheaf of rice to restore democracy and ensure the people’s voting rights. Everyone must work together to make Advocate Dipen Dewan victorious.”
The main attraction of the program held under the chairmanship of Chandraghona Union BNP President Zakir Hossain and conducted by Kaptai Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Ibrahim Habib Milu was a huge mass procession. The procession circled the main roads of the union and leaflets were distributed among pedestrians and businessmen. Kaptai Upazila BNP General Secretary Yasin Mamun spoke at the time. BCIC Chemical Workers Federation General Secretary and KPM Sramik Karmachar Parishad (CBA) President Abdur Razzak, Kaptai Upazila BNP Vice Presidents Harun Or Rashid Ratan, Mohammad Ayub Khan and Ekramul Haque, Co-Organizing Secretary Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Central Volunteer Party Co-General Secretary Md. Morshed Alam, Rangamati District Women’s Party Senior Vice Presidents Nurunnahar Begum and Rahela Begum, Upazila Women’s Party General Secretary Taslima Akhter Rina, among others. Before the mass procession began, a huge procession of Chhatra Dal led by former member secretary of Karnaphuli College Chhatra Dal Riaz Uddin Akash and Kaptai Upazila Chhatra Dal leader Kaisarul Hasan Shaon arrived and joined the main program. Also present were Kaptai Upazila Chhatra Dal convener Sekandar Ali Russell, Upazila Volunteer Party joint conveners Mohammad Iqbal Hossain and Md. Yusuf, Upazila Jassas member secretary Omar Faruk, Upazila Weaver Party organizing secretary Rahmat Ullah Monu, 1st Chandraghona Union Jubo Dal convener Md. Shahidul Islam and member secretary Mohammad Ismail Hossain Milon, Union Volunteer Party convener Md. Nur Alam and Member Secretary Mehedi Hasan Farhad, Union Chhatra Dal General Secretary Shahria Shahid Ami and a large number of leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates. The speakers emphasized the active role of leaders and activists in guarding the polling stations in the upcoming elections and bringing voters to the centers. Through this program, the official end of BNP’s election campaign was declared in Chandraghona Union No. 1.
