Md. Nur Islam Nayon, Dinajpur Correspondent: The Trinamool Gymnastics Training Camp 2026 has started in Dinajpur to breathe new life into the sports arena in the northern part of the country. This camp, organized at the district gymnasium under the management of the Bangladesh Gymnastics Federation (BGF), has generated great enthusiasm among young players and parents. The camp was officially inaugurated by District Sports Officer Md. Asaduzzaman as the chief guest on Tuesday (January 27, 2026).
A total of 70 young gymnasts are participating in this intensive training camp, organized with the aim of bringing up skilled gymnasts from the grassroots level. Out of these, 50 are boys and 20 are girls. This training will continue for 21 consecutive days until February 16. Experienced national-level coach Md. Abdullah Al Masum, who came from Dhaka, is providing regular guidance to the trainees. He is being assisted by local coaches Md. Asaduzzaman Limon, Md. Nazrul Islam, Md. Aslam Hossain and women’s coach Ajmeri Sultana.
One of the specialties of this camp is the exceptional initiative of the coaches. The organizers did not limit the training to the field alone. The coaches personally visited the children’s homes and exchanged views with the guardians. By highlighting the importance of gymnastics and motivating the guardians to encourage their children to take up sports, both the number of participants and their interest have increased this time.
The participants in the camp have to go through two rigorous practices every morning and afternoon. Especially increasing physical fitness, ensuring body balance and flexibility, strategic skills and basic lessons in modern gymnastics.
At the opening ceremony, the speakers thanked the Bangladesh Gymnastics Federation and said that if such grassroots-based activities are carried out regularly, the leaders of the national team of the future will emerge from Dinajpur. The sports organizers present expressed optimism and said that if given the right care, our little boys and girls will one day fly the red-green flag of the country in the international arena and win medals in big events like the Olympic Games.
Currently, a festive atmosphere prevails as the little gymnasts walk in the Dinajpur Gymnasium.
