Md. Mokaddesur Rahman Rocky, Jessore : A youth named Qorban Ali (28) was beaten up inside the Aminia Alia Madrasa on Khaldhar Road in Jessore town. On Wednesday night, around 8:45 pm, local people detained him and beat him up. On receiving the information, Kotwali Police Station SI Mofazzal Hossain went to the spot and rescued Qorban and admitted him to Jessore General Hospital. At that time, a firearm and a round of bullets were recovered from him.
Emergency Department doctor Zubair Ahmed said that Qorban has serious injuries to both legs, and there is a risk of breaking his left leg. Qorban claimed that he was taken to the madrasa on the call of Riyad due to his dispute with his neighbor Tuhin, a bhangri trader and shopkeeper, and was beaten up. He said that he did not know anything about the weapons. He also said that there is a case against him under the Narcotics Act, in which he is on bail.
